Looking for some great places to eat in Cancun? Look no further, Cancun is filled with tons of culinary delights! From fine dining to slummin', we found some great places to feast until our bellies were full. So let me show you where you can find some of the best food in Cancun!
1. Harry's Grill- Steakhouse and Raw bar
(in the hotel zone)
Harry's is upscale dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Although I am not a big fan of the raw bar (or steaks for that matter), their food was absolutely delicious! I had the Lobster Risotto which was to die for! Of course I had to sample the plates around the table (aka Helen Keller style) where I tasted steak, mashed potatoes with truffles, salmon and the rib eye hamburger. Delish!
After dinner the wait staff delivered a huge ball of cotton candy to each table to pick at for dessert... Honestly, that was the highlight of my night. All through dinner I watched like a little girl, as everyone else received a huge ball of spun sugar. I made it known, if we didn't get one, there was gonna be some ass kickin!
It was delicious and melted in your mouth.... Apparently, some people just have more fun with cotton candy than others!
2. Cenacola
(in the hotel zone)
This is by far my favorite place to eat! The food and service is out of this world. You have to snag a seat outside overlooking the Nichupte Lagoon at sunset! I recommended this restaurant to a friend who was traveling to Cancun and they ended up eating there 2x!
What makes this restaurant really stand out is that all of their pasta is made on-site by a rolling pin and a knife! No pasta press here, and you get to watch them make it! They also have awesome gluten-free pasta and an unbelievable vodka sauce!
Make sure not to fill up on the bread or appetizers, because the servings are HUGE! Every time we eat here, we have tons of leftovers for the next day!
I had the porchini mushroom risotto which was to DIE for (apparently I eat risotto a lot..lol). Not only do they offer pastas, but the menu includes seafood and meat, so there is something for everyone!
3. The Joint
(Isla Mujeres)
This little hole-in-the-wall was found on the island of Isla Mujeres. In order to get here, you have to take a ferry from Cancun and once on the island, rent a golf cart in order to get anywhere!
We rolled by this 'joint' to find a FUN, interesting place to eat and drink! The sign says it all!
There was live music where they sang Prince, The Doors, and even Ed Sheeran (talk about range of styles!) all with a Mexican accent! People were dancing, singing along, drinking and having a great time. Then they all got on their golf carts and continued on their journey... hmmm (just sayin!)
After snagging a table (the place was packed), I had a HUGE mojito and really great nachos! (no risotto today, shocker!) This place is super casual (there was a dog walking around and people in their bathing suits) and if the plastic chairs don't give it away, this isn't an upscale place...lol.
Sometimes, the most fun places are the ones that surprise us the most! Life lesson #25
There are so many places to eat and drink when you are visiting Cancun, I just shared 3 of my favorites. Make sure to hit them up the next time you are in Mexico! Oh, and stay away from Lorenzillo's - They tell you it is famous for their lobster, but their dish presentations were horrible (think diner style with mashed potatoes served from an ice cream scoop!), the food lacked in flavor and it was VERY overpriced!!
Let me know where you have found the best food in Cancun. I hope you have Berry Yummy adventures!
